Hollywood itself is a hippocritical pirate!
It is worthwhile to mention that Hollywood itself was born for the purpose of "stealing" intellectual property. It is well known that the film industry went out to the west coast to escape the reach of Thomas Edison's patent lawyers:

While two wrongs do not make a right, the fact that Hollywood was born to evade IP rights means that they cannot take the "moral high road" in any sort of arguments regarding IP. The same goes for the RIAA. (People today are escaping IP enforcement using electronic means instead of travelling off to a distant land.) What goes around, comes around, so they say.

Some might try to argue that Hollywood wasn't just "stealing", but it was stealing to be creative, and this somehow separates them from modern pirates who take but doesn't otherwise produce. This argument falls by Hollywood's own reasoning that it is "theft" no matter why the theft was committed.
