It's true
It's easier to risk wasting $10 on crappy movie than it is to waste $25. It's the same thing with Music, Video games and books.

I used to buy paper back books all the time for $3 now I don't buy books because they are $12. I buy 1 new video game a year approximately if I'm lucky. I've been burned too many times now when I spend $80 for a game only to find it sucks.

Music is the same thing. I'm not going to spend $18 for CD of music I might not like after only hearing 1 song on the radio. If CD were $5 a piece I buy 6 just to expiriment.

Movies if they were $10 would have me picking up one 2 or 3 times a week instead of once every other month.

See that's the problem here. If I have to wait then my entertainment budget gets spent else where. Instead taking that $20 buying that DVD for $28 where I'd have to save till next pay day I might spend it going out for beers. So $28 DVD never gets bought.
