Piracy is the remedy to price fixing
MPAA and RIAA are just legal organize crime. Look around you. Every time a product of any kind if clearly over priced, there is someone to offer it as a reasonable price (Cigarettes, Alcohol). PRICE IS THE KEY. When i go to Wal-Mart, i look at the $20-$25 DVD but i buy the $4.99 one! It as been say before and i said it again. Lower the price to a reasonable point and piracy will stop by itself. How about diverting all the funds that the crooks at MPAA and RIAA are using to track and sue individuals to lower the price of CD and DVD, how many millions of dollars they will save if they stop using the totally useless (and potentially ILLEGAL) macrovision protection? No copy protection (Especially Macrovision) as never been effective in any way to prevent mass copy of entertainment media (music, movie, DVD). All they do is illegally prevent normal user who own a legitimate copy to make backup of it.

I say take you next Blockbuster hit, remove the illegal macrovision from it and don?t pay for any copy protection on it. Sell it 10$ and see how many people will lost they time to download an inferior copy from the net? Chance are you will sell so many more copy of it, that you will make at least a much profit as if you would have sell it 20 or 25 buck. Plus you will not have to pay the totally useless macrovision tax, so again.. more money,
