My Short answer to your long post:

FireFox will continue to errode IE's market share but IE will continue to be the most used browser. Mainly because the MS using public is clueless.

The bulk of Opera business is non-PC browsers and they will continue to produce a very good, little used browser.

Safari will continue to evolve and become an even better browser, but I may still contiue to use FireFox for much of my admin work.

But all of this is a good thing because it is serving as a wake up call to IE only website designers. It is time to start following standards or you will continue to lose customers due to your short sighted laziness.
