Blog advantage
Unlike big media, where ther is little if any chance at getting a
meaningful correction, most blogs have a comment section
where readers can point out errors, or other gaffs.

Another strength of the blogs is that they point out good and
bad points about other blogs - usually with a whole list of links
to other blogs on the page. If someone states a falsehood,
they're picked up.

It's sort of like these talkbacks. If I say one thing, others can
jump in and point out the weakness of my argument. If I posted
something like "Apple is poised to overtake Microsoft", how
many rebuttals would follow?

There has never been much constraint on the major media on
publishing misinformation, as in Rather and the fake TNG
memos. If you wanted to read colunmists, you were pretty
much stuck with those in your local paper. Today, with blogs,
anyone can be a columnist. Just like those in print media, some
online colounmists (bloggers) are brilliant and others are idiots.
