Attempted "Embrace and Extend"

Surely this is just an "Embrace and Extend" attempt, extend SPF, get some sites to use the extended version, render the unextended version pointless.

Any spam filter would have to support both record formats to get full cover, so they would force their license into spam filters by this E-E strategy.

They didn't address the core licensing problems at all.

SPF works fine, last I looked it had 200,000+ sites not 100,000+, so its becoming the defacto standard.

Its also quite easy to publish both an SPF and other DNS record if full Domainkeys ever takes off.

If you are a webmaster and want to publish an SPF record:

Use the wizard, answer the questions.
The wizard generates a simple text record, upload this into your DNS, done. If your ISP doesn't let you set TXT records in your DNS, ask them, or change ISPs, or simply change your DNS host to one that does (your ISP and DNS hosting can be separate).
