pennies a song is possible - that scares the riaa
"My cousin's wife just recorded her own CD for $3000 where she distributed and promoted it herself. That's 5000 CDs and she can get more pressed at any time, like she is doing again before Christmas. Last year she sold out so she's doing more this year."

and if she was able to do on-line ditribution for pennies a song, she probably would, why? cause it has almost zero ditribution costs, and if it is a hit, she is rich - without the need for the riaa, wow, no wonder they hate on-line music
