Poor thinking these days though
If they do indeed think that way I can see the Major Labels going out of business. They offer a service for very steep price. Much like a bank does when you go to get a business loan. The recording label gives an artist cash to and access to thier services to produce a recording. The artist uses the money to record thier songs, promote thier music, and distribute thier music then pays back the cash through royalties. That to me a service based business.

I'd find it funny to think that people in business making that kind of cash wouldn't know what thier business does. Judging from the stupidity the recording lables have done they actually may not know what thier business is.

If they indeed don't realize they are service based business then what's to stop artist from choosing not to use thier services?
