Proof that you can make a substantial profit at pennies a song.
His issue was not whether the songs were stolen but that a massive profit was made doing it because of greatly reduced overhead in CD mastering, reproduction, distribution, retail outlets and outlet promotions, vast numbers of employees, etc.

Online marketing at a penny a song means the only costs are studio time, post recording mixing and pre-press digitizing. Once the song is now available in digital format, straight to the web.

No CD mastering, no CD pressing, no cd packaging, No CD-shipping, no distribution centers and warehouses and cataloging, etc., etc., etc.

The fact that criminals did it is proof that the ligitimate publishing houses can do it.
