uh??? get the facts.
'The only thing that tax breaks to businesses does is put more MONEY into their pockets'

lets assume thats true (whether it is is debatable, and depends strongly on the company involved and the global picture of competition for that company). what do you think happens to that money? you think they use it to insulate their houses?

no, it gets invested or spent. all of which flows downhill. come to think of it, even if they did use the cash to insulate their houses, theyd still have to *pay* someone to do it.

the economy is *not* a zero-sum gain, where someone always wins at someone elses expense. that was where his comment about macroeconomics came in.

also, some of you might actually want to read up on the details of this bill. it is designed to encourage american job growth (by cutting taxes on manufacturing done domestically), and it is certainly *not* simply a tax-cut bill; in fact, there were tax increases as well (corporate loopholes, subsidies, and tax shelters were eliminated), and they pretty much offset each other, so it looks to be revenue-neutral.

lastly, even if you still dont like it, before you all go off blaming the president for this (and everything else), please remember that he is *not* the king. while we all like to have one person to point the finger at (which finger depends on who is pointing it, i guess), this bill was passed by *congress*. the president, be it bush or kerry, doesnt start this, hes just the last step in the chain. this bill passed the house 280-141, and the senate 69-17. thats veto-proof. oh, and kerry didnt vote on it, so before he tries to turn it into some disingenuous political ad, remember that he was either in favor of it or not against it enough to do anything about it.

remember that about the president not being king, no matter who gets elected in november. kerry has a lot of talk and promises; even if you can overlook that what he is saying now is completely against his rather extensive record, hes going to have one heck of time getting a lot of it (if any of it) done, so dont be surprised when it all changes or is just never brought up again should he be elected.

but remember: i predicted it.
