No hypocrisy involved, my friend

I fail to see where the hypocrisy comes in. Likewise, so if Tucker Carlson cracked a joke at any time in his career, according to you, he'd be a hypocrit. That's retarded. Jon Stewart was responding to how Tucker was saying that he shouldn't be talking politics because he's a comedian. Well, just because he's a comedian doesn't preclude his right to talk about things other than comedy. I hope we're not devolving into this much simple-mindedness. So according to you, being that I work in IT, I'm only allowed to talk about IT-related things and anything else would be stepping out of my bounds and being hypocritical.

Dude, you need to learn to think outside the box. His criticisms were both valid and completely correct. The major multimedias (not just bow-tie Tucker) have devolved into mere kiss ass extended mouthpieces for their respective parties, doing nothing more than repeating the same talking points that each party uses as its campaign pushes. They offer no real criticism oftheir own parties, and if they do its all undamning fluff without any real claws. Just because he criticized Tucker or talked in any way about politics does not suddenly morph him into a newsanchor/pundit. Many people on this forum discuss politics frequently. This doesn't make us congressmen. Jon wasn't even remotely trying to come across as anything but himself, a concerned citizen that is simply sick of the bullsh!t.

You touched upon, IMO, the biggest problem with journalism today. News and entertainment should NOT mix. Politics is NOT entertainment. presidential elections should NOT be entertainment. Wars are NOT entertainment. But nowadays, there is always some kind of blurb about who Britney Spears is blowing this week intermixed with news about the Iraq war. This is insane. And no, you are wrong. Most people CAN NOT tell the difference between Crossfire type "news" and real news. That is why most people are deluded in this country: they are taking the ridiculous propaganda put out by the major multimedias and thinking it is the complete truth.
