So Google was in such a rush to roll out a product that will compete with the one Microsoft is developing that they limit it to searching files created by other Microsoft products? What a goofy approach!

As users are becoming more educated about the problems with IE they are switching, in droves, to alternative browsers. That includes changing email programs. Many people simply no longer trust Microsoft's web applications.

I understand that Google Desktop is still in Beta, but this is like General Motors rolling out cars that aren't fully assembled and asking you to test drive them.
