Netscape: Bowed but not broken
We've been using Netscape since Mosaic, probably about version 2 or thereabouts? Netscape always had an advantage.

Originally we used a different mail program but early on learned the advantages of Netscape mail.....re-install and still keep old files. Just try to recover them using Outlook?

Then we got into Web Design....and guess what? Yep. Netscape has Composer. Free with the Netscape package, and it used to be just dandy designing web sites. We did about 20 of them over the years, as well as our own. Nothing fancy...but did everything we needed done.

Oh, yes, I tried the free AOL design package that did frames when they were popular.....didn't like it. We also purchased Pagemill from AOL to design web sites in frames...and I still have one personal web site that was done in frames. But the old standby, Composer, has been our "web design tool" of choice for a long time, now....since about version 3.0.

Only in the last 60 days have I uncovered basic design flaws in Composer which make it impractical to design for optimization using Composer. Thus, within the last 30 days, I have had to switch to Frontpage in order to design new "optimized" web pages and web sites.

Personally, I like the simplicity and ease of use of Composer better....I just don't like the complications Composer adds to optimization of the result!

Thus I am eagerly looking forward to this new Netscape improvement....and devoutly hope that AOL will make a major revision to the versatility of their Composer component of Netscape.
