Not necessarily
Most people ARE couch potatoes - or at least listen to music at home. My plan would be a direct challenge to DCR (Digital Cable Radio), which some people have from their cable company (I get mine free - I never understood why you can't have the TV going when the radio is on - you have to stare at the song listings). But as DCR is NOT on-demand - my plan would be (make your own playlists or select from premade ones).

I believe that the next big thing in terms of the internet is not hotspots but more like "warm country", where wireless nodes proliferate. The cost of being on the internet becomes your own wireless hub contribution - and all traffic goes through wireless. This effectively KILLS ISPs as the internet is available just by plugging in a hub.

Anyway, portability can be achieved in many ways - but service/convenience is what ALWAYS attracts the consumer. Downloading and storing and managing and quality controlling large numbers of files, so you can have tunes while you're out an about - will eventually be replaced by click an go . . .
