You get it!
It's called Web Services and its comming! MacroHard wants to eliminate the browser, and have web content brought into its other offerings. Instead of a web browser going to a site and rendering all of the graphics, running apps, etc. - You have an application on the desktop that CONTACTS the web site and gets all that info FOR you, and then shows it to you. In this way, only the relevant DATA comes accross the internet, and NOTHING is "run" on the web site. Its an interesting idea, but there are (political) problems. How do you do advertising? A local desktop app is free to ignore the advertising data, and to insert its OWN advertising! This would give MacroHard an unbeatable control on web advertising! Of course, what web sites would be left if all advertising revenue dried up? And what would become of website designers? There would be no reason to have any pretty websites since only the data gets grabbed.
