- Remember, they are customers!
- You are right, EarthLink should make their customers aware of the problem. My ISP makes available security software (to their high speed customers) for free. The problem is that these people are CUSTOMERS! You can't make the average customer do ANYTHING! These people are paying EarthLink for a service and customers customarily dictate to the business, not the other way around. As for formatting the hard drives, etc.; well that is the optimum solution, but who is going to pay for that service? Not the ISP and not the customer as long as they can use the PC for their purposes. If it works, they aren't going to fix it. What is needed is education and as another poster in this discussion stated, they don't want to learn. They want their PC to be like their TV; turn it on, it works!
