I'm a Microsoft fan
I'm a Microsoft fan, and even though I also have a Mac, I have never gone in for the Windows bashing. Windows works fine, and I've always enjoyed using it.

When Microsoft put out IE4, I was sold. It had better standards support than Netscape, ran lighter, and as any web developer of the day could have told you, had much less buggy CSS support than Communicator.

In that war, I've switched sides. Why continue to use Explorer? Microsoft has tied upgrades of it to the OS, and it is no longer "free forever" the way Bill Gates once described it. Even for ongoing operating systems like XP, there have been no real updates (other than the pop-up blocker.)

Firefox on the other hand is light, lean, multi-tabbed, and well... cool. The coolness factor matters. Microsoft once got this, when it smacked down tired old Netscape. Now, just like Netscape before it, the Explorer team just stands there stupidly like a deer in the headlights.

I don't need to spend $200+ upgrading at home to XP. I just fetch Firefox.
