Call me cynical, but I'd put that the other way around, Politicians
go after the issues that their supporters want them to go after.
Personally, I think Hatch is too much of a nut job for any of us to
know what his true motivations are. I would, however, say that
it's unlikely he'd spend quite the time and effort creating such
blatantly anti-consumer bills if he wasn't getting a huge chunk
of change from the RIAA and MPAA. Remember, this is the man
who proposed that we either use viruses, or remotely blow up
the computers of anyone downloading anything they didn't pay
for. Do you think voters in Utah really support such a policy?
