Radio station are paid to play music

The Royalty thing is just there to make it look like they are following regulation reguarding payola. In reality Major Recording Label pay millions of dollars to Independent Record Promoters (IRP) who then pay radio station to put specified song on to station play lists. This why you can listen to a dozen differnt radio stations and hear nothing but the same music. P2P will kill radio. Advertising while bringing in a hefty sum is not enough to keep radio station going if they lose the money from IRPs as with out that money they are still paying royalties. This the main reason internet radio went under.
