It obvious that the internet is a promotional tool greater than Radio. Problem how ever is anyone can promote themselves on it. RIAA doesn't like that.

Look at Radio today. All the same music, why? Because the Major Labels who pay the RIAA don't want you listening non major label music. They control radio by paying HUGE ammounts of cash to radio. So independent artists have trouble breaking in there.

Now P2P people can search genre and get all the country music they want for example. Some of it sure is the radio play songs but along with that is independants and minor labels.

Major Labels are middle men providing access to radio at a HUGE fee. Million dollar investments in CD promotion actually come from paying radio station to put song thier play lists.

Who stands to lose from P2P being used as legit protional tool? Radio stations, Major Labels, TV Networks, and many artist who have money locked into the old system of doing things. That's a lot of people that would like to see P2P banned.

Problem here is that the problem the RIAA and member have with P2P is illegal and not grounds for banning. So they take a problem that has always been there from the beginning of the industry and they blow it out of proportion and go as far as to add fuel to fire by distributing MP3s on P2P.

It's all a con job to get people like you thinking "BAN P2P" because of all those thieves. It's working if you are any example.
