Technical correction

The founders did more than attempt a balance of power in the federal government. Much more! They specified that the federal government is only allowed to perform those duties that are specifically assigned to it by the Constitution. As Bob Schulz likes to put it, "if it's not in writing, they can't do it." Congress is bound by Article 1, Section 8 . . . AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART . . . your understanding. If you don't know about that part of the Constitution, then Congress can get away with murder--like a Federal Reserve, an unapportioned direct tax on labor, a delegation of war powers, a Department of Education, etc.
