RE: Rocker Lou Reed takes aim at new technology
Digital sound, as represented on CD's is already a huge degradation from analogue. Compressing this further into formats such as MP3 or AAC further compromises the sound. And then, there are actually millions of people who buy from iTunes at 128 kbps, who hear very little of the sound of instruments. People should go to concerts and listen to unamplified instrument to get a basis for judging what they hear. Otherwise, you are just comparing the distortion of one amplifier to another. Current sound reproduction is a disaster!
