We don't need guns to resist. The Euro was accepted by those countries it benefits but it was not accepted by all since some countries could not see the benefit. The Euro has helped free-trade within Europe like the dollar has helped free trade within the US. Europe learned from the US that a unified currency can help the economy of a confederation of states.
