RE: French court says site cannot grade teachers
How can you possibly argue that this is like yelling fire in a crowded theater? How is that in any way relevant? There are plenty of websites which make it their goal to review other people's professional work. Should I not write my scathing critique of a bad book on Amazon.com? Should I hold my tongue when criticizing my country's President online? Because it's like yelling fire in a crowded theater?

What you are talking about is slander. If there is slander on the website (which is not the same as saying something bad, it has to be a false or unsubstantiated accusation), then the teacher can take legal action against the STUDENT or other individual who posted the slanderous information in the first place.

This is ridiculous. The entire Internet was founded by the idea of the free and unrestricted dissemination of information. What now, if a citizen slanders someone else on a TV show, will the French government shut down the entire TV station? I thought the French people were all about freedom and l'egalite? Must freedom be so carefully manicured?
