RE: French court says site cannot grade teachers
As an English woman, I should be standing firm with the US commentators on this story.... but in this case, I'm totally in agreement with the French! Privacy is vitally important - especially nowdays with the internet where so much can be done anonymously and maliciously - which is exactly what would happen with such a web site.

Children do not have the critical ability to make reasoned comments about education while they're being educated. And that's the point - they're their to be educated - not to make anonymous attacks on educators who are doing their best for the students.

As for the poor misguided soul who thinks that high school kids have jobs and pay taxes and can therefore have a say...you live in an 'interesting' society. Suggesting that a high school level child get a job... most of them would be able to explain why that doesn't work - in quite educational terms.

And then there's that comparison placing teachers at the same point as a 'grease monkey' - words fail me!
