Product Reviews
So, by extension then, we shouldn't allow the review of products on the internet. I mean, a hardworking corporation that employs hundreds of people shouldn't have to deal with "some anonymous rating site telling people random things about them". In fact, we shouldn't ever ask each other for advice about anything, because, "you do not get anything but a false impression of the [thing] being rated."

Seriously, teachers provide a SERVICE. They're just like consultants or auto mechanics. Sure, they're people and they get paid crap, but the fact of the matter is, by paying taxes or by paying tuition I am paying for this service. I have a right then, to review the service being provided by the teachers. Just because they're in a thankless job doesn't mean they shouldn't be subject to review or criticism.

Now, you can argue that early teens usually don't pay taxes (except sales tax, which still contributes), and often, that's true. And in those cases, it seems irrelevant for a rating system anyway, unless the parents do the rating. That I will agree with. But for High School, enough students are working and paying taxes that they should have a right to review their professor.
