eBay certainly has its merits, especially for established businesses that use eBay to supplement extra sales and exposure, but they are but a fraction to the many deceitful seller types that prey on those that don?t read the fine print, like selling EMPTY BOXES of popular items like they were RARE and hard to find, or ridiculously overcharged ?shipping and handling? fees because they want to bill you for their time spent going to the post office ? meanwhile every established courier company offers a pickup service daily. Sure you bid on a good deal, you'll pay for it later.

It?s interesting how when you loose a bid, often the seller will contact you right away and say the EXACT SAME item just became available, and offer you a gracious ?second chance? to buy that item at the LAST bid you offered.

Toleration is a form of consent, and eBay has consented to the very worst practices and behaviours that will drive most sellers to exhaust every alternative before using their services. It?s only when their bottom line is in jeopardy do they acknowledge there is an issue, so it?s easy to understand where the priorities are mandated.
