FYI, the United States government never, ever, let's the public or press see any new technology, that hasn't already been improved upon and hidden for a rainy day. Tracking a spy satellite that you put in orbit and shooting it down is a lot different from detecting and shooting down an ICBM. As far as risk, if another country ever fires a nuclear missile at us, they risk being totally erased off the face of the earth within twelve hours, or less.
