Missile Shield.
A missile shield I believe is the practical use of this tech. An ICBM is a sub-orbital weapon and if you can hit an orbital object you by the very nature of the weapon can also hit a sub-orbital one. Despite Russia's repeated claims that a missile shield could lead to a new arms race I believe it should be developed and deployed anyway. Not because of Russia but because of nations such as current day Iran. A nation that actually has a significant risk of using nuclear weapons.
