The Elbo Room on Fort Lauderdale beach has had web cams and a web page for around ten years or so.
I love it. It makes me want to go back every time I've visited the cam page. They have one on the band/dance floor and one outside.

As far as employees feeling like they're being watched...OF COURSE they're being watched! By the patrons, by the manager, etc.. What kind of manager wouldn't watch their employees. But not through the web cams, unless they were away from the building. And I used to tune in just to see my favorite waitresses/bartenders!

I think the Elbo Room has a camera aimed across the street towards the beach also.
(I haven't been to the web site for a while so I'll have to check it out now that I'm thinking about it)
I think it's great! Especially for resorts and other vacation spots. It reminds people of the good times and makes them want to return.

The ~paranoid~ folks can just stay in their caves. They're no fun anyways!
