I do not see any advantage for Microsoft to take over Yahoo.
I do not see any advantage for Microsoft to take over Yahoo. I do not see that Microsoft would gain anything from such a deal, and I only see Yahoo disappearing from the deal.

"But 95 percent of their revenue comes from advertising--so their competitors are really the broadcast TV networks."

The logic here fails. The TV networks are into advertising, yes - but so is Google. In fact, Google's own income is primarily from advertising. So if you were to compare where the income comes from, you're still looking at Google as a major competitor.

Not that source of income is the only valid metric for comparing how companies compete anyways. The "logic" still fails.

"Who can argue the point?"

What point? The author claims to use "logic" but only makes false comparisons. I am not impressed.
