What If...
a National ID was in place without the retention of personal data/documents? In a way I am for a National ID that states Who I am and that I am a Citizen or non-Citizen of the USA. This National ID would be a non-repeatable ID, unlike SSN, so that this ID would always relate to me and only me forever. However, on the flip side, I believe that the process to obtain this National ID should not involve the retention of personal data/documents that could be used/shared whether in my best interest or not. But a separation of duty and process will be needed for obtaining my National ID as well as for future verification if my ID comes into question.
