you're solving the wrong problem

Knowing people are who they claim to be is not the problem. The problem is
people who initiate force and fraud, so we should defend against that, not violate
people's privacy.

Initiation of force and fraud, by those in and out of government is the aspect of
the problem that this will only make worse.

I've got to wonder where the professional ethics committees of IEEE and ACM and
NSPE are on this other than AWOL.
