The Internet was designed for publishing.
Email is in fact a form of electronic postcard.

Nothing you put on a postcard is relly private.
Nothing you put on the Internet is really private.

More scary - nothing you do ona computer connected to the Internet is really private.

Laws can be passed saying 'Don't look' - but criminals don't obey laws. Lots of decent people also break laws they don't accept, or don't know about, or don't really like.
