And speaking as a single father,

I can tell you that yes, my daughter has seen porn sites, yes, so have I, and no, she is not addicted, and no, neither am I. The site itself is not the problem. It is the nonsensical taboo that sex has been saddled with, the one that says it's "forbidden" or "dirty", that leads more to the addiction than seeing the act in pictures or other media. When you make something forbidden, you make it more desirable. Believe me, society will not crumble if we lose those taboos about human reproduction and sex. We've already lost most of them; menstruation and contraception being two of the biggest "don't ask, don't tell" subjects that are now part of mainstream thought. Or do you still subscribe to the belief that talking to your children about something will automatically make them want to do the thing? Children are smarter than you give credit for.

As for my age, I'm 38, and my daughter is 16. And very mentally healthy, thank you very much. And she is waiting for the right person, and the right time, to have sex. And I believe her. This is usually where the other problem arises. Rare is the parent who trusts their children. Even the response "and you believe her!!?!" shows a basic distrust of children. If your children are trained right (not everyone's... YOURS) then your child will do right. You are not responsible for everyone's child.... concentrate on YOURS.
