a soapbox you climbed on there. But your logic is flawed if you believe freedom is the same as social obedience. It is not. There is no such thing as Decent freedom... freedom is freedom. Once you start to dissect freedom into types, you create an elitist state, and freedom starts to erode... The type of decency you speak of is the type you feel comfortable with, and thats fine, but my sense of decency may not be the same as yours. So what am I to do? Conform to your ideas? Conformity is the antithesis of freedom.
As far as perverting young minds... this is scapegoating nonsense. If a mind is taught right from wrong, rewarded for doing right, and punished for doing wrong, that mind will tend to do right. Perversion or righteousness is not something that our children should be learning from the media. It is our primary responsibility, as PARENTS, to teach our children. THAT is the only way to stop your so-called perversion.
BTW, there is NO SUCH THING as the social fabric. That is a term that has always meant "What WE want YOU to do/think/say/feel".
It is simply another euphemism for "conformity". As is the phrase "Good Christian Values", "Decent Society", "Christian Society".
Remember the old adage, "If someone says 'There ought to be a law...', chances are, there oughtn't."
