BS for the consumer
Just more confusion in the end. This has been a
detriment to the consumer in a big way as the avg wag
hasn't the first idea what is what and why. All they
know is there are two exclusive formats. This just
needs to go away before it will make any headway.

Only the high end consumer will buy either or the geek.
Joe sixpack doesn't care, they just don't want to buy
things twice. So this format will continue to languish
and so will sales.

I will be willing to bet that currently with DVD sales
falling, that the HD-DVD and BlueRay both don't make up
the slack or difference in sales. Instead, the
combination of a year of crap movies for a good part
and the confusion has led to consumers just saying
screw it, what will BitTorrent give me.

I'm not buying in to either format until there is a
single standard. I don't give a rats rear about High
Def right now because my systems won't run it, and I
have no plans on replacing it for another 2-3 years. I
can wait these fools out.

Both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD will be coasters by then as the
industry finally gets it's collective head out of its
rear.

That, is my opinion. It and a cuppa coffee might get
you a caffine buzz.
