Don't lie to yourself.
Yes, I'm a parent, and also a volunteer worker in a hospital. You want to know the FACTS? Your child is most likely to be abused by YOU the parent, followed by a live-in relative, followed by a trusted professional, followed by a family acquaintance, with the proverbial "predator" coming in dead last. More than 70% of abusive injuries to children are caused by PARENTS.

You are right, we are not paying enough. Because if we were, tens of thousands of abusive parents would be in PRISON for what they did, instead of just having their children taken away. It sickens me when the headlines focus on a handful of arrests when I've watched a thousand scumbags called "Mommy and Daddy" walk away scot-free after ruining a child's life. What makes it most vile is that it violates the most sacred trust of all.
