Nice bit of Astroturfing there Larry. Your examples are red herrings as well. For example yes there are more and cheaper flights since dereg of the airline industry but the safety level has plummeted right along with dereg. You, oh so conveniently, ignore the fact that the content providers that the carriers want to hit up for more money are already paying for their content to be delivered. The industry response that these providers are putting too heavy a load on the networks only indicates that the telcos are not taking their outrageous profits and reinvesting them into the network but are instead paying high dividends. What the networks really want is to be able to offer all those services themselves in such a way that no competitor can compete with them due to poor packwet transport over the carrier's network or the cost for piority packeting will be so excessive that they stioll can't compete with an identical service offered by that carrier.
