wow! Never mind what the ad companies know about me...
Now people can make assumptions about me when looking at what ads appear on my computer screen at work? Anybody who sits down at my computer will be able to know things about me simply by observing what ads show up! Or even better, if I browse the internet on someone else's computer I might make them look bad! Or how about if I happen to visit a website and the ads AREN'T targeted. If you see a public service announcement you can assume it is because I am in some way affected or interested in that subject?

This is worse than the FBI tracking what I check out of the library. This is like taking my reading list and making it public! This is like making public a list of what aisles I walked down library. Or attributing the list of someone who visits me to me!

Privacy is dead. This is the equivalent of walking around with a GPS strapped to you broadcasting your every move. Wait a minute! I DO voluntarily carry one of those! It is my GPS enabled phone!

There is only one solution to this. By law cookies should be optional at every website. It should be against the law to *require* cookies in order to use a website. But of course that won't happen. This is America, home of "opt-out advertising", where Congress is in competition with George W. Bush to sell the "public good" to corporate bidders.
