No, they won't cut your internet access "illegally". They ALREADY have the law for it (the DADVSI act in France), and a parity authority monitoring what they can do and do effectively.

But it's true that some newer technolgoies must be developed to protected consumer rights, notably to allow them to prove very simply that they DO ALREADY HAVE a licence for the content they are downloading.

It should remain legal to redownload a backup from anyone, simply because we DO have a legal and PAYED right to have a backup. This backup should also be TECHONLOGY-NEUTRAL. That's why the producers have promissed to us to free us from ALL DRM systems in their sold medias.

As there's now a predicted end of support for CDs (to be replaced by HDDVD or BlueRay or memory cards or USB keys... or whatever), the introduction of newer technology should not mean that you won't get access to your old purchased medias. This should be possible by URGENTLY developing online portfolios for licences. And developing a way to transfer our old medias to these portfolios.

There should be no limit in your capacity to transfer your purchased medias from one device to another: so we should have the possibility to transfer them to a mobile phone if we wish, without havingto pay another licence from another distributor, like it is occuring today.
