No downloads, but beer and pot are okay
Puhleeez! So, as long as the illegal activity does not cost a media conglomerate money, Congress and universities look the other way (pass the bong and a longneck, dude!). It is so hypocritical and short-sighted. The Dems have lost sight of what they stand for, and the GOP never had any sustaining vision anyway. The only differences between the Dems and GOP are how much to tax and who they pander to. God forbid anyone stands on principle or has any vision. MPAA & RIAA (& Prince) are the new evil empire, axis of evil, whatever you want to call it. It is time for consumers to take a stand on digital media sharing - if it is not free, don't buy it and don't support the artist - the artist is no longer an artist anyway when his focus becomes revenue. There are better revenue streams for music artists (such as concerts), especially if they want to build a fan base rather than alienate it. At this rate, the next time I sing in the shower someone from RIAA will be standing in there with me with a waterproof clipboard in hand: "$1 for singing Purple Rain, please!"
