You pay more for gas because of taxes in the EU, right?

Those who bought gas-guzzling SUVs deserve what they got. In 2001, gas was $0.99 per gallon. Gas used to be $1.33 in the early 1980's. Calculating for inflation in 2001, that price should have been $2.25 or so. That tells you that there were some kind of price caps in place that were there too long.

So.... I bought a 40 MPG car despite the salesman trying to get me to buy an SUV because gas prices were "cheap" as he put it. I asked him why he thought they were so cheap. He said because of better technology, but I insisted on the 40 MPG car. Now, I get 1 1/2 weeks in gas milage for $30 worth of gas driving to and from work 5 days per week. Most people are paying $60 or more for a full tank and not going for that long.

Muslims hate Americans probably because we impose our beliefs on the world. Most powerful entities do. Ask a Catholic. With our losing this war, it's time to pull out and keep focus on our OWN national interests back home instead of giving money to every country who cries poor especially when they don't pay us back.
