Angry?
Perhaps many will interpret my response with anger... but honestly, maybe it is more frustration *shrug*. There is nothing fair in the civil proceedings, as you say! I, like the victim in the real court case, do not have an army of attorneys, nor a bottom-less bank account to stand up against this racket. Organized monolpolies are mafia's to me. I don't see executives in the RIAA as thugs, per se'... I see them as executive bullies feeding off a business for the extreme dollar (excessive windfall), who are heart-less and clueless to the overall picture. I am also not an attorney and don't claim to know the inside and out of intellectual law. But I know what "fair use" is and I see that executed in a common sense way.

It ticks me off everytime I PURCHASE a DVD and have to sit for a few minutes of lies and spew just to brain wash and condition the public the wrong way! I call it pure illegal propaganda! Downloading songs or movies is not stealing. Get the facts straight! Downloading copyrighted material is violating the copyright... NOT stealing! Tell an Intellectual Law judge that someone is stealing by downloading any song and they would throw you out of court! First, prove to me you own the property. Ah ha! So not ALL downloading is illegal then? By golly there are songs that are public or privately owned? After that, prove to me that the property had value and where is the loss. The download person could be guilty, but asking for a monetary amount for a song that is flop in the general public is ridiculous!

Then it goes back to their tactics. I don't use Kaza or Bit Torrent or any of those programs... but I understand how programs work and I understand how the Internet works... Unless MISTER Sherman and company is sitting right beside this so-called thief, they have no idea who violated what... except for a nickname and a IP address. And then act as a tele-thon call center to force the many victims into their jaws of injustice... because again, most folks don't have an army of attorney's or a deep pocket bank account to fight it... And it is a well known fact that if any of the victims are of someone with class or someone that COULD be a contender in court... they flock their wits to settle the thing out of court, or in most cases, write it off! But the main stream media refuse to cover those incidents! You may not call that mafia, but I do!

If you understood the industry like MANY artists do, then you would look at this with a open view... not a person with hypocritical opinions only to say you are part of an industry that products are stolen... You are confused and perhaps conditioned... and that is what the RIAA and the rest of those groups want... Myself, as a songwriter and a musician, does it make me angry? You betcha!
