Another way to steal your financial info
Most people unfortunately and wrongly consider the telephone more secure than the Internet for making credit card purchases. With the new powers Congress has handed to the Presidency, allowing the Executive Branch to collect private telephone information with no oversight whatsoever, it's only a matter of time before some low-level functionary realizes that s/he can craft a self-made, quick retirement plan simply by plugging in the number pattern typical of credit cards into the datamining operation, then shunting that information off to a little take-home folder for sale to the cybercrime network. A few weeks (or less!) of that, and it would be time to quit the dead-end government job, take the nice nest egg, and head off for a new life in the Bahamas.

Until Congress starts standing up to the Bush Aristocracy and starts truly protecting America, I'm refusing to discuss the details of any private financial matters over the phone.
