correct me if I'm wrong
But websites that are selling a product typically have a description of the item being sold alongside an image of the item, some people shop by the images, other shop by the descriptions.

I browse with images off all the time, I have no problem connecting the blank image area as being an image of the refrigerator described next to it.

I realy fail to see how labeling an image

"Home Trends - Roselyn Jacquard Comforter Set"

alongside the text:

"Home Trends - Roselyn Jacquard Comforter Set:

* Pink and chocolate rose print reverses to coordinating teardrop print
* Set includes bed skirt and two shams
* 200-thread count
* Fabric: cotton, polyester
* Care: machine wash; tumble dry "

is in any way better than an image labeled simply "pic3.jpg" followed by the exact same text

I realy have a hard time imagining ANYONE who is able to operate a computer, who would see/find 'pic3,jpg' followed by a good description of an item, as anything other than being a picture of the item being described.

where does laziness come into it if a full description is included in plain text right alongside the image in question?

as another response stated, I've been on websites that are flash only, NO way to get around them and into the site without it, how are blind people supposed to negotiate them? For that matter, how is anyone who doesn't USE flash negotiat their way around them? myself, I use the little X in the corner and find a more mature site.

ken.
