Wrongful impression
Ryan McMillen of Santa Monica College did not 'trigger' the Internet shutdown by the Myanmar generals. Nor is he 'suspected' of causing the shutdown as your headline claims.

He posted to CNN the video of the murder of a journalist in Myanmar as any good citizen of a democracy ought and by right should always do. He found wrong and pointed a finger at it.

Your story does Professor McMillen and demcoracy no favors when you make it sound as if the repression, violence and death was his fault. That's what the Myanmar generals claim -- that if you shut up, keep your head down, and not notice what they're doing to you and your country, you'll be better off.

I protest and denounce ZDNet's policy of supporting repression and blaming those who refuse to be silent. For shame. Everyone connected to this antidemocratic action deserves censure and dismissal.

Just WHOSE side are you guys on, anyway?
