European Comission ruling is proof of anti-American sentiment.
I seriously believe that anti-American feelings by members of the European Commission have manifest themselves in this ruling. The last OS to come out of Europe was Linux. Most Linux companies are now owned by U.S. companies. Nobody since IBM came up with OS-2 Warp has challenged Microsoft or Apple. No European companies have tried. Nobody put a gun to Europeans and said buy Windows or else.

There are plenty of options now for an OS. There are so many variants of Linux, its getting ridiculous. There are even free versions of DOS that Microsoft does not own. That argument has lost so much ground now, that the charges against competition are becoming baseless.

Personally, I think Microsoft should comply with whatever Europe says short of breaking up the company. Then Microsoft can just raise the price of their products to as a middle finger to the EC. Saying it without saying, basically if you keep trumping charges, we'll keep raising the price. If Europe wants to save face, they should appoint someone other than Neelie Kroes to the case.
