Hollywood studios go after two piracy sites

Gaping hole in their strategy ...: The media cartels have a huge weakness in their strategy, and they have failed to adjust their business model.

The weakness is that their main "enemy" no longer has an economic footprint to attack. Websites are ephemeral; they cost very little to setup and maintain, and they are not really revenue generators like a physical DVD stamper that could be seized and sold. Operators of the websites don't have a lot of economic resources, so the cartel doesn't recoup any costs of attacking a pirate site unless they manage to seize and sell the webmaster's car ...

So the current model slams the customer in two ways: the MPAA treats all customers as thieves unless proven innocent, and the cost of pursuing penniless pirates is paid for by HONEST CUSTOMERS. You can be sure that it isn't coming out of MPAA executives' salaries ...
