I experience this only on laptops
and in some cases it's almost any program. I searched for an answer on my personal laptop, a six year old Toshiba. Turning off 'fast initialization' in the mouse properties (i think that's right) cured this to a large degree.

I've not pinned down what causes it. You think it's program specific? I used a Gateway laptop at one time from a site and it did it on any input screen. From web sites to notepad. It was maddening

some of the only things I could find (haven't looked for a few years actually) were things like bumping the mousepad while keying and that was about it.

Do you know why it happens? I find it hard to imagine it's software specific other than maybe the windows OS, since i've experienced on way too many programs to be anything but a firmware or OS flaw.....or bumping the touchpad. happy
